He first took a serious interest in music at the age of eleven, mesmerized by soul jazz, garage house, and hiphop. Four years later, he purchased his first set of turntables and started spinning hiphop with his skilled partner, D-Wreck. Through this genre, Freaky learned the basics — scratching, cutting, and mixing — in just that prioritized order. Jungle, drumandbass, and the underground music culture soon captured his attention; Flow, in turn, transferred his knowledge of hiphop into this new, captivating music.
The commonly held idea of making music has always been that you had to know how to play an instrument or be able to sing. Therefore people have always taken for granted that music was what bands, orchestras, singers, and choirs were introducing to them. Guitars and drums were replaced by computers. Since then, several new sub-genres have come to the surface. However, even though making music on a computer was now enough to be called a musician, a DJ was far from being recognized as a musician.
